I dont think thats what I would call socialism, but anyway, either liberalism or socialism cant be proven "wrong" by showing examples where things ended up in disaster, the way institutions work is accidental compared to the real substance or principles behind either socialism(realization of the community) or liberalism(personal realization respecting the laws).

So yeah, what he said was not correct or at least not proven.
