This might be a little bit off topic, but I want some advice about the Fire Emblem series.
I've only played FE: Shadow Dragon for the DS and while I enjoyed it and thought that it was a good game, I don't think it lived up to the hype I had for the series. I loved the gameplay mechanics, which I think make a welcome break compared the the normal Tactics Ogre styled SRPG, however I thought it was too linear for my liking. On the other hand I don't think I can accurately judge the series on a remake of a NES game, for example my opinion of Final Fantasy would be much lower if I had only played the DS remake of FFIII.
Anyway, I want to play more of the series, but don't know where to start. I'm a 3DS ambassador, so I already have one of the GBA games (I think it's the 3rd GBA one iirc). I don't speak any meaningful amount of Japanese, so I'll have to stick with the ones in English, which I have all the necessary platforms to play. Where is the best place to start?
I also have a pretty big back catalogue of games at the moment, which will only grow when The Last Story is released and my copy of SMT: Devil Survivor arrives. So I'm unlikely to get them soon, just for future reference.
