I do recall awhile ago that Epic said they weren't even sure if next-gen consoles will even be powerful enough to handle Unreal Engine 4. I wonder just how much of a difference Unreal Engine 4 will look compared to the updated Unreal Engine 3. Also, what picture is that from in the OP? |
Being that developers are going to be looking for tools which operate on everything from an iPod Touch to a bleeding edge PC, I highly doubt that Epic would produce a game engine that requires bleeding edge hardware ... While they won't be able to run all of the effects, would need models and textures with lower detal, and would be displayed at a lower resolution at a lower frame-rate I bet the PS3 and XBox 360 will run the Unreal 4 engine easily; and being that the Wii U should be significantly more powerful than those systems, it will easily be able to handle it.
