Wacky mascot based karting games only has one king and we all know its Mario Kart.

Sure this game has potential to reach like 2 million lifetime sales...but thats nothing to be impressed about.

I'll remember to bring up GT when you comment on Forza next time.

Meh its about even with GT in "generation sales". Its in my above post. Offcourse I dont expect people to catch on to it, its a radical idea but relevant nonetheless.

It's relevant to you because it helps your arguments. To everyone else: not at all. The "socially accepted" idea is that when comparing franchise sizes you compare the selling power of each game in the franchise, not total sales.

Oh please. The significance is there nonetheless, regardless if it helps my argument. Flagships are symbols of the console itself so they inherently need multiple games per gen. And they must be top rated in quality. Halo 3/Reach and Mario Galaxies got over 90 on metacritic where as GT5 is an 84, and took 5.5 years. That sir is no flagship. Uncharted is cause its quality is 90+ and it releases more frequently, keeping the fans happy and not waiting long.

Oh right, now you add metacritic to the mix too. Nice. You said Mario Kart was king but do you know what it gets on metacritic? Yep, sub 90 while LBP always gets 90+. Will be interesting

Sales + Frequency + Quality = Flagship. Thats my formula.

I think your better off comparing Mario kart to Modnation Racers, since LBP isnt a kart game. It will be interesting to compare LBP kart sales + metacritic to Mario Kart for a direct comparison.

And I never said Mario Kart was a flagship. I said dedicated Mario games are flagship (aka platformers). But damn it comes pretty close.
