I haven't played it much since installing but I did notice more frame dropping than before. I still get around 45-50 FPS with odd hitches (where I used to get 48-60), but that might be because of my aging storage - a 7 year old 250 GB hard drive. Also, Nvidia has been having a poor streak with drivers. They've been pretty inconsistent with release times (there haven't been new official drivers since late October) and they've only released one beta set of drivers that has looked into improving Skyrim performance (the latest beta drivers didn't address this any further so I'm stuck with somewhat jittery foliage). I plan on turning off 4x AA and applying FXAA though as I used to get 60 FPS just about always without a huge drop in image quality (and with the higher res textures things might look crisper anyways). As for my character, I'm kind of disappointed with how he looks. All of stuff he's wearing is more out of necessity than trying to make him look cool. The gauntlets do 35% extra bow damage, morokei is a must if you plan on doing magic stuff, and I wear the thieves guild outfit for the increase carrying capacity. Once I get my enchantment and smithing skills up in the 80's or whatever I'll craft my own outfits to get some of these benefits in cooler looking outfits. |
Hmm i really need to sort out my pc and get it up to scratch again for some gaming on it. Been having overheating issues while doing intense gaming, so im mostly playing on my ps3 now. Dissapointing to hear that about Nvidia and their drivers...they tend to make a big difference.
Be sure to post pics of your character once you having him looking even more cool!
