I don't know what all the hate is with the 3g model, It's not like you have to pay for the 3g plan. I look at it this way, I can buy the 3g now, and maybe be disappointed that nothing happened with it, or something great might happen with it, and I'll be kicking myself in the ass standing in the check out like to buy a second vita. So I'm going 3g right out of the gate. No reason not to. It's not a big price difference. You can always pick up a second game next payday, or when ever. If you really want a second game, trade something in. I know i have a few games that may never see the inside of my system again. |
The main reasoning is that people dont want to spend money on a feature they know for a fact they will never use. The carrier exclusivity matched with the limited functionalilty is a difficult sale for most, especially those who are on a tight budget where that 50 bucks could go towards another game or larger memory card. If I wasnt going to be able to get every vita game I want, then i definitely wouldnt have put down the 50 extra for the 3g bundle because Im not even sure if Ill be using the 3g all that much unless certain games have features that I feel is worth the monthly fee, which probably wont happen. I really just wanted an extra memory card and the free game helped me seal the deal, and I know that if I settled for the wifi only version I wouldn't feel good about it because thats just how I am. To each their own.
