What's wrong with Brazil??

Nothing... the tax system is different but due that type of economy the Brazil is one of the few countries to not enter in the the global crisis and show market grow for all consumers products.

In reality, Brazil is experiencing the best season in terms of economy.

The R$1600,00 launch price to Vita is not high... the PS3, 360 and Wii was launched with high prices (PS3 over R$3000,00 / ~USD$1500)... the Vita is set to launch  30% more expensive then 3DS launch.

So people in Brazil can actually afford it?

There's a lot of people who can, however the big masses won't be able to, of course.

Our taxes are absurdly high for everything, however there's a lot of credit available on the market so people buy can still buy stuff. We just became the sixth economy worldwide last year, seems like it's working the way it is.

Count me as surprised that's for sure.

Where are you from?

To be honest, even though I can afford the system day one here, I think I'll buy it by importing it (it's much much cheaper) or wait a little longer until they announce better bundles. Not a big fan of buying things when they just release, since it's when a system usually show a bigger margin of hardware failure. However, Vita is making really hard to not buy it.

I'm from USA, and I'm somewhat against buying things on first day too, any bet on black friday there will be plenty of deals.

Yeah, too bad we don't have something like that here. Are you planning on buying Vita?

I REALLY want to on first day, but can't manage the cash, I don't have a job right now. So I'm going for black friday most likely.
