That was a remote play feature (it worked with GT too, if I'm not mistaken).  The fact that it was dropped from the final game could be an indication that the streaming feature didn't work as they had hoped.  Additionally, streaming data to the PSP or Vita to support an alternate view is likely a much less demanding task than streaming an entire game and its full graphics for simultaneous viewing and interactivity on both the TV and the handheld screen, which WiiU is designed to do.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Bold reads particularly well.

Well, on the other hand, Vita has its own processers and the ability to load the game to its own system the only thing to do from that point is the run the two systems in tandem and a lot less information is required to be passed back and forth.

My point being that the WiiU's ability to stream with this kind of performance may not be able to be done on the PS3/Vita, despite the fact that the Vita is a far more capable device on its own than a WiiU controller is.  Only time will tell, though.

Ah, there it is. It's the fact that you're getting Wii U graphics on the tablet, not a PS3/4 to Vita discrepancy à la GC to GBA.

Exactly.
