In its actual form, The Last Story still isn't nice and sugary. The game must have looked depressing in its initial development phase.

Also, I am not sure why anyone would favor a drama between a man and a woman over a story about companionship. The latter is a much better base for an entertaining story, because it includes the entire cast you control, rather than just two of them.

And lastly, there's no reason to be so negative without having played the game, especially when you consider that the game is on track to become the second best rated JRPG of this generation (behind Xenoblade Chronicles).

Rol is right. Multi-party RPG's are about companionship. You can't have a party with one.
