I started playing it said, "Press Square to accelerate." I was like wtf is this shit!? O_o

Overall though i enjoyed the demo just that i was hoping that i would be able to change the button layout to my liking then i wouldve loved it. ^_^

You have not thought about going to the options? Think there are 3 different control scheme.

Yeah i did after i wrote this comment lol the one i found to work best for me was the Racer option, which worked out MUCH better.
