The Vita has much harder competition than the PSP. The PSP had only the NDS.
The Vita has the now enormous successfull 3DS as competitor and the Smartphones&Tablet-PCs. And on top of that the difference in graphics between 3DS and Vita are not as apparent as between PSP and DS.
To be honest: I think the Vita will not be in the market two years from now. And after reading about the horrible financial status of Sony it could be that Sony will be history in a two years too.
