Because even people who hate football will watch it for the commercials. 100 million people would see the commercial. Considering how the Vita's biggest problem right now is arguably a lack of publicity, that could help a lot.

To be fair, the Superbowl has the best commercials of the year. 2010's Google commercial, for example, was a work of genious.
