You know the levels are short and the controls are a bit limited for the asking price(though, I don't know what the price may be, but I think it'll be around $30). It would a perfect $15 dollar game like Espace Plan. |
Two things:
- Most of the mechanics wouldn't be as well applied on a PSN game, especially the paintbrush one. Talking back to Okami (which used a similar paintbrush mechanic), it only worked because it paused action during combat or else it would be almost impossible to do it in both versions, Okamiden for the DS as well. Same would happen with Sumioni as a PSN game (as it is, only the more complex demon arts are required to pause the game, the rest can be done fluidly, making for a pretty fast combat schematic). About the controls, i'll get over it on the second point
- That was the first stage only (it was already shown back in December), so about time per stage and controls you can't take any kind of evaluation given that fact (not only levels will increase in time and difficulty as you go along, you also probably don't have access to all the capacitices of the game right at the start) plus the game has a large variety of branched stages, multiple endings and overall goodies based on your performance, so it has a ton of replayability value ( http://www.siliconera.com/2012/01/10/acquires-ink-platformer-sumioni-has-branching-paths-and-multiple-endings/ ).
I still don't see why anyone can consider it not worthy of being a full game. If that was the case, then there was a ton of games for the PSP and DS that should have gone to their respective stores (PSN and WiiWare) instead of being full releases.
