Every console with a slower start is doomed until it's not. Remember that at one point the PS3 was getting outsold 7:1 in Japan by the Wii. Do you really believe PS3 will sells more than 4 millions in Japan to catch Wii?

Considering that in previous generations the gap between the first and second place consoles could be well over 10 million, then yes, I would say that the PS3 finishing at least within 3 million of the Wii and having competitive software sales is a pretty impressive result. Also good job not addressing any other part of my post.

We know PS3 sold as double as Wii sales this past year. That's not a subject to disscuss., so there's no point to address the first part.

And 3 million difference in Japan is not neck to neck.
