I think the one good thing for Sony is that if they were gonna have sales slow in any region it'd be Japan. We know the PSP was a big hit there in the end and we know that once the Vita is cheaper / got games it'll sell well there - that's just Japan. While sales are pretty weak, the strength of the PSP means that Vita really can't be a disaster there long term.

I'll be more worried if the thing really struggles in America and Europe, as the PSP ended up a bit of a lost cause there and the Vita could quickly become forgotten given what happened to the PSP. Sony have got to keep the thing relevent and that's no easy task.
