Kaz is at it already.... in the OP he wants to use "profits from..... and PSVita to supplement other areas" to help growth. and yet he also said this... (Reuters) - Sony Corp expects its new handheld games device to sell faster than its predecessor, despite the explosive growth of mobile gaming on smartphones and tablets, the company's No. 2 executive said on Tuesday. "If we were able to hit that 70 million mark for PlayStation Portable, we want to exceed that both in terms of numbers and timing to get to that number," Sony's Kazuo Hirai said in an interview on the sidelines of the E3 games convention in Los Angeles. The company aims to make a profit on hardware sales of the new PlayStation Vita handheld in less than three years, Hirai added. Oops.

This only means that he is expecting enormous software sales from the PS Vita. Perhaps a tie ratio of 10.0 within the first year is feasible in his opinion.

I guess so.... and at those prices that would do it.
silly Kaz.

I'm going to try and be as diplomatic as possible.
Isn't being profitable on the Vita hardware simply just profitable on the Vita hardware? Is he not also factoring in price drops within those 3 years? Doesn't this number also not include memory card sales and game sales?
