While that may be true (still doubt it, happened a few times when I was at 29th place), you still can't deny that the rival or "supposed rival" always drives way faster than the other AIs even during the first lap (although the same thing can be said about the cheap Mario Kart AIs)

If GX is harder for you. you obviously never tried Wild Goose... and it's still easier with any of the other guys except Silver Rat.

Of course, the rival is assigned with a more aggressive AI, otherwise there wouldn't be much of a challenge to win the Grand Prix. There are 30 contenders, after all. If their result would always be all over the place, you could win with 300 something points without ever pushing anyone off the track or into the rails.

Wild Goose is one of the worst vehicles in GX. Now I know that you were joking.

The F-Zero GX AIs are way more balanced and "all over the place", thus one of the reason for it to be easier than X, with the other reason being the fair first laps.

Wild Goose is the only racer who can pull off 10 boosts without any regeneration. That's extremely beneficial compared to the more common 5-7 numbers

Edit: And it turns extremely well on top of it. He's just a sucky spinning AI.
