That's not Sony's style. They believe in having a wide variety of medium sized franchises as opposed to a few behemoths ala Nintendo. This prevents 3rd parties from being scared of the competition while still producing good games. And although you can argue with this strategy, you can't argue with Sony's sucesses: 28 million sellers on a console that only has sold about 60 million units, AS WELL AS a bunch of third party hits.
The fact that Sony relies on third parties is not a sign of weakness if those third parties make PS3 games. |
True ... if this was the PS2/PS1. 3rd will not be to exclusively support SONY. so every console gets MGSV, FF15 ext plus Mario an Halo on top of that ... what does SONY have? as 3rd parties begin taking in all consoles 3rd party power will dimension( wont play that big of role in console choice) and it will be 1st party offerings/securing that decide it.. which SONY is lacking in regards to appeal.
