When I was talking about the features and how sony would back them, I wasnt talking about power (which sony have already stated that they wont be going as cuttingedge as the ps3 was) but the other potential features such as cloud gaming, cross platform play, move integration into the hardware and the total package. |
The thing people don't seem to get is that Sony has never released a system more than 1 year after their competition because, if the market embraces your competition, the features you add don't matter ...
While it is not easy to track, a large portion of console sales happen because of word of mouth and first hand experience with a system at family/friends houses. With each month that passes the likelihood of Nintendo/Microsoft having a game (like Rockband, Wii Sports or Modern Warfare) that drives sales for the next generation of systems increases, which will take away sales from both the PS3 and prevent sales from happening for the PS4.
