I prefer Bioware and other devs to implement Kinect features one at a time than trying to make a new game Kinect only. Voice recognition is a start and will soon become the norm where even Sony will try to make sure they're not left out when devs put that extra bit on Xbox. Going all out is rarely a good strategy so one piece at a time and it's ok. Sometimes I think those who bought everything MS said Kinect would do in the immediate are more Sony fans than MS fans. I paid 150$ for a Kinect and all I get on core games are voice recognition? Yeah so what I get it and you don't if I don't like it well I don't activate the function that's all, at least I get the choice.
Once again, the reason why it's easyer to put voice recognition on Kinect than on other mics is because of the way it's made and the fact that MS wants everybody to be able to control the dashboard with voice. Kinect has an array of 4 mics that suppress a lot of noise and aid in knowing where the voice comes from so it is easyer for Kinect to track the position of player. MS made sure that a robust voice recognition program comes by default with every Kinect. That program can be used by devs, they don't have to code one from scratch nor buy copyrights from another party. Everything is already there for those who have Kinect, why not use it?
