I still suspect the next Xbox could come this fall though I think economic conditions are making it less likely. Strategically challenging Nintendo would be the best idea however with the current economic crisis launching a new platform will be difficult. Though the question begging to be asked will the economic conditions improve? According to Canada's Government America is done, they will never recover to where they were ten years ago. If that is the case I wonder if launching now might be in everyones best interests. Who says economic conditions will improve? Japan isn't doing so hot either its getting harder and harder for Japanese companies to turn a profit. So I think the economy needs to be considered very carefully in any future hardware release by Sony. |
I agree with you on that. Many 1st world countries wont be back to how they were a few years ago, speculation will continue pushing their economies to cut on public investing, creation of jobs and public helps in general. China, India, Brazil and many other emerging countries are growing really fast and there are a lot of opportunities to go there and make profits. Gaming companies, like all other companies in general, should focus on creating new markets and thus securing their profits and future success.
Nintendo's case in Korea is a very interesting topic and they should use it with other countries to replicate the success.
