Not that MGS: Snake Eater 3D will not have a big impact(when launches in US) that MH 3G did prior to the Vita launch in Japan, but I can tell you there will be sales won over by the special 3DS edition of MGS when it launches the day before the Vita. The sales won't be THAT bad as to how they were with the Vita launch in Japan, but saying that the Vita has better launch software is true. Now what I believe is that most people thought that the Vita will sell extremely well at launch in Japan because of its games.. but it didn't. Then those people said, "we will just wait until it launches in America, after all, the launch games are most popular in Western territory." While this also may be true, it will be be enough to believe that the Vita will not sell enough as the 3DS, espeically with so much great 3DS software coming out in the whole year of 2012. Btw, CoD won't be enough to win over the Vita. Sony will have to work on the dual-analog controls with FPS from what I've seen/heard.
