Well I am more of an average joe gamer compared to people here who are fanboys of companies.
Using such logic we should ban used car sales because companies are not getting enough money to create better cars.
Used video games expand the market dramatically. Meaning people who would not buy games buy games and like it and then are more willing to buy the next game new. How do you think many franchises explode in popularity from one game to the next?
Also the reason why Gamestop is able to act in such a manner, is the make it so easy. You can resell games for a higher price but it takes effort. Also people are willing to buy a used game copy if its only 5 dollars or 10 dollars cheaper as people have less disposable income then in the past.
Also I do not think paying 60 dollars for a game is ever worth it. Only game I bought full price is MW3.
If I could only buy games for 60 bucks, I would likley and most of my friends buy only COD or GTA.
I was able to play the Assassin creed games (1 AND 2 BROTHERHOOD) and I got them used for like 40 dollars combined.
