As for the Crystal LED technology, could be Sony blowing smoke. Or not. You say it best in just waiting for the tech heads to dissect and report back.

It's really annoying that development isn't further along. My trusty TV through almost fours is about to kick the bucket, and I'd hoped I could get an OLED as my next TV, but now I might be forced to get a new one.

Actually I could use some advice!

@ everyone

Since my old 2007 LCD TV is about to die, I have a few choices I can make. I really wanted to hold out for a TV that could do 120 FPS 3D at 1080p though, and I was hoping to get a TV that was a really big jump from my old LCD (hence me wanting to wait for OLED):

1) Have it repaired for about the same price as buying a really cheap, new TV.

2) Buy a really cheap new TV (there are few TVs out there that's not better than the one I have now) to replace the old one until my "dream TV" comes along.

3) Go nuts and get me a highend TV to replace the old one and just go many more years before an upgrade comes along that's worth the price of admission.

4) Or just get some middle ground TV like what d21 is after.

Thoughts anyone?

Id do middle of the road tv of decent quality. Maybe not even a 3d capable tv just yet. I dont see current console games and most bliray movies worth it. 3d is becoming more of a nusence. I just saw underworld and while it wasnt a terrible movie, 3d made it terrible...plus i had to pay more for it.

I will be moving soon to a house and im debating what to do. Ill be stating fresh and am debating if im going to go multi projector setup with 3 screens in surround, multi projector setup on a single screen and 4k resolution or a 3 slim frame 55 inchers in surround. I found a killer tv frame which alligns 3 tvs in perfect surround setup...
