So Formula 1 through the ages, then what appears to be a futuristic version of Rallying and then F-Zero based racing?

Here's a good fact, Formula 1 cars were faster in straight lines in the 80's but because of the technology today modern F1 cars are faster. Another fact is that Williams had such good cars in 1992 and 1993 that the technology used was banned, Williams struggled to recover from this and could not live up to the previous models which potentially lead to Ayrton Senna's death (San Marino's lack of safety contributed).
