I still want to know what inspired this prediction. Not making fun of him or anything. I'm genuinely curious what made him think this was a possibility.

i believed the PS3 would win 2011 b/c it was evident there would be no threat from the wii, i didnt think x-box would be a threat to it in 2011 b/c it was a odd year, odd yrs have been good to the PS3 when comparing it to the X-box (07 was a close race and was really the start of good things to come, 09 saw PS3 start of sales explosions) and b/c the PS3 out sold it in 09 and 10

i do believe that for this yr the X-box will win idk i think it has something to do with GTA, gta4 for was a shocker when it was not only announced for the X-box but that it had timed DLC.  i think that if gta releases this yr that MS should cut the price at that time i believe that would be the nail in the coffin as far as Sony having any chance of wining in 2012.   the last two yrs have shown that the X-box can keep up with PS3 sales wise w/o a price cut, its almost certain that it will have one this yr so i believe it will be closer than ever if it doesnt outsell it.  theres also alot of other stuff that make me believe this yr will favor the X-box besids what the stars have shown me.   games that are low on the radar but i feel will be pretty huge when released similar to RDR these games are ME3, halo4, maxpayne3, gta, COD BO2 and it being and even yr, although some of these games are multi they will get most of there sales and will be advertised for the x-box

@ the other guy that posted above me it was said in the summer of 2011 that NPD would include wallmart in the future idk if/when that ever happened, prior though NPD would use (something that i dont like to use) a educated guess to what the other retailers sold instead of completely excluding them as some thought
