For the record, it is ethically wrong to violate a valid copyright when there is a legal alternative.
And you know what? People can justify stealing. Pick an analogy; any analogy. But while your analogy likely is a matter of life and death, getting by and going under, "pirating" is not. If you knowingly do take what isn't yours, for no other reason than your own pleasure, then it is morally wrong as well. And by doing so, you should be prepared for whatever consequences arise from that decision.
If you're going to "pirate" entertainment for your own benefit, when an alternative exists, understand that whatever justification you present, it's still wrong to do it.
