Maybe humankind should use it's brains for once and do selective breeding that actually helps a species.
Of course we hardly would see it. The very concept of eugenics and uplifting is thoughtcrime to modern society. A bit ironic from a species who bred dogs dumber than their wolf ancestors, turkeys who drown in the rain and crops who can't reproduce by themselves.
