MS is prioritizing the wrong things. I believe this will backfire in the next gen. You can only ignore the core gamer for so long.

They aren't ignoring the core gamer and now that they have so many studios set up for next gen you can expect an absolute huge amount of first party exclusives (both Kinect only and one's that can be used with a controller and Kinect)

A huge amount of Kinect games yes, but we have no evidence of many exclusives for traditional controls.

Even if some of the Kinect games are planned to be "core" Kinect games I am suspicious because I hold the belief that Kinect is near useless for core gaming except for the odd arcade style title such as Child of Eden (which would have been a cool experience with Kinect 2.0).

I will say this again. MS won't abandon the core gamer...it's really as simple as that.

They kinda already have. What core releases are coming exclusively to Xbox 360 this year? Halo 4. That's it.

Look at PS3, they got Starhawk, Twisted Metal, The Last of Us(?),  The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy Versus 13(?), and more hopefully announced at E3.

I'm not saying Xbox 360 has not games, the 3rd party games are more than enough to last most gamers throughout the whole year. But how is Xbox 360 differentiating itself from PS3 this year? Kinect. Most core gamers don't care about that. So all they have is Halo 4.

I thought this was because they were ready to move on to the next generation, but it appears that Kinect is their next generation console.

LOL at FFvsXIII and The Last Guardian. Those games were used as examples for the overwhelming lineup of the PS3 in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Include Agent as well and you really pushed the limit.

StarHawk, Twisted Metal (because it was delayed in 2011) Last of Us, Dust, The Last Guardian (still doubt it after all the trouble)

Halo 4, Fable Journey, Steel Battalion, Star Wars Kinect, Alan Wake, Ryse, The Witcher 2, Minecraft. All exclusives for the Xbox 360 this year. So there is quiet a variety for the Xbox 360 this year. And we are still in January.

The resources MS put in their first party studios in the past 12 months are huge and I think if they are able to release high quality games with a better advertising, it will be a great investment.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
