While it's not a feature, one of the most critical things for console manufacturers to do is to distinguish their product on the market. Releasing a system that is (essentiall) a better version of the XBox 360 or PS3 will likely end with disappointing sales because many third party games will be released for the PS3, XBox 360, PC and Wii U (at least for the first several years) and, without something new to drive sales, people may have difficulties justifiying your system.
