Yeah you're completely right, and the few SONY franchises that were established have been hit pretty hard this gen (Final fantasy, gran turismo).
Wait what, FF isnt a Sony franchise ;p
But ya Gran Turismo hit a new low, mostly cause they took so damn long to make it, it was right up to the jokes along with Duke Nukem Forever lol.
How did it hit a new low?? You mean critic reviews? Meh
Critic reviews aside, the main thing is that it's just not the best of the best anymore, there was an unbelievable amount of hype around it and after what, 6 years in development? It finally came out and it was very good, but it was not the masterpiece people were expecting.

I don't know why it gets the flak it does. The only reason GT isn't the king of the mountain anymore is that there's a lot more competition. Gran Turismo will be Gran Turismo...I think some people just want to see GT turn into Forza a bit too much
Exactly, competition is why it's not the best of the best anymore. I don't think people want GT to turn into Forza, I think they just want GT to progress. I think the problem is that polyphony still think all they have to compete with is their previous game, if that makes sense. Hopefully things will be different with GT6.
I get what you're saying but that's the way I like it. I'm sure they'll make great improvements in GT6 though

You know I think the main issue with SONYs japanese studios is that they don't really have a set time to develop a game, so development is constantly changing and a lot of design choices aren't concrete, which may seem like a good thing but it leads to the game being unfocused and weak is many areas. For example, instead of adding bloody go karts they could of maybe created another 200 premium cars to replace the standard ones. Hopefully SONY will give polyphony a date for GT6 and stick to it. (ps4 launch title please!)
I fear the same thing will happen to The Last Guardian.
