so during CES it was over 66 million now its "approximately" 66 million lol, its the old switcharoo

Ballmer only bumped it up a bit - probably including January orders he shouldn't have but what the hell I'll forgive him a sneaky 200k.

Also guess this clarifies the obvious fact he was talking about shippments and not sold to consumer (unless I'm being really dumb and missing something - in which case I'll soon know about it...)

Pretty damn impresive quarter - best one yest for 360 am I right?  Most of the boost seems to have come from US so it seems safe to say unless the Wii U manages to put a dent in it the 360 stands a good chance of really hoovering up further marketshare and overtaking the Wii in US eventually assuming it can get another big holiday under its belt ('cause I'm expecting it to sell even weaker during the first part of 2012 than 2011 unless it sees a price cut).

You also noticed that the official press release did not mentioned anything about the 360 being the worlds best selling console last year.  I am sure during the Q&A it will come up but isnt that something they would want to brag about.

It would be odd to mention that kind of thing in an earnings release.  Ballmer used decidedly open language so I'm assuming it's probably too close for them to call in a big way - at least on current numbers known anyway.  We'll see if at a more PR orientated event they mention it again but I suspect they might not.

I don't remember Sony or Nintendo responding to MS original claims earlier in the year they'd be number 1 WW so I doubt they'll respond now either way.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
