I was hoping for an opinion from PS3 loyals themselves to get some perspective. 

Because this is one scenario where I hope I am not right. Great games shouldn't be ignored.

Seriously though, there hasn't been a full Twisted Metal game in several years. And even back then, the series never saw huge numbers. So of course the pre-orders will be low. It could have decent sales due to quality, but pre-orders are mainly determined by past iteration sales.

And I wouldn't really take VGC's preorder data too seriously. It's agreed by most people to be the most inaccurate of VGC's data.
