Not to rain on your parade but I don't think you get it at all, you should be almost just as worried if you don't live in th US.

I was just referring to my being glad I don't live in the US in general, what with all these crazy bills and laws and propositions and their whole weird and convoluted government system. I'm glad we don't have that here. Seems like every other week they have some new weird law or regulation they want to push through. :/

Not really. The essentially perpetual election cycle and the fact that most of our Representatives end up commuting (those that can, say, fly home for the weekends do so) means that congress is very rarely in full session or taking full action on stuff. The rottenness of the system is just more visible recently because of divided government, such that no bill is just a safe slam dunk (unless it involves giving government more power to fight the terrorists, as illustrated by the NDAA)
