It is not a problem of the site, is part of human nature. When someone does something bad to you, you want them to suffer at least part of the pain you felt, you want them to receive some kind of punishment. Like when someone stole from you, you want them to go to jail to remember them that there are consequences, you don't just forget and move on (you do but not fast enough). You can do it but is not as easy as it sound because is part of our education.
In this case the wound is still too fresh and people remember, if more time had passed, less people would have fall into the behavior you think is lame.
