I called this a while ago. It will be a mid year release in Japan, and hopefully a holiday season release in the US. FFXII just came out six months ago here, and square it working on a ton of Final Fantasy offshoots and remakes. I don't think the PS3 lack of success is really what caused this so called delay, it's just that Square has a lot of projects they're working on right now.
