from just looking at the pictures I´d agree that Resistance looks a little smoother, but Halo is about berfect multiplayer gameplay so most people will take worse grafics if the maps can be bigger and more people can play, doesn´t matter anyway since Metroid3 will look better than reallity itself, 
, but seriously I think the next big grafics explosion will be Crysis ((or maybe bioshock))
