8/10 (PC version)

After having played ~30-40 hours I would probably have given it a 9 or even a 10, but then I took an...then the game's faults started to shine really bright. I can live with minor glitches but even smaller ones like disappearing textures became annoying after a while. As I dug deeper into the game I unveiled bigger bugs that just shouldn't be in a "complete" version of a game. Some quests got messed up and there are things that I will never be able to complete because of bugs. That's just inexcusable, and I went from extremely long and fun playsessions exploring the huge world of Skyrim to barely wanting to turn the game on, mostly because of fear of what questbreaking bugs I might find next. They just took the pleasure out of it.
Another fault with the game is the not so varied caves. Again, I didn't mind them in the beginning but later it just felt repetitive and reminded me of Neverwinter Nights' Aurora. I understand that you can't make that many unique caves but they could atleast have made a few more parts to use in their level editor.
My third problem with the game is the awful inventory system. Once again, it didn't bother me in the beginning when I didn't have that many items and skills, but when I have magic, lots of potions, a few weapons, some staffs and a couple of shouts it becomes a huge pain in the butt to switch to another magic/item/weapon/shout. Instead of trying new things out I just stuck with a few skills and items so that I wouldn't have to use the Favourite list from Hell.
My fourth complain isn't very trivial unless you're an alchemist. Why couldn't they have come up with a system where you can access recipes while you mix potions? I love mixing potions, but I curse them too!

That's the only big complains I have but they are so major that it greatly drags the game down. Skyrim is really great with a huge world, lots of locations to find, many different ways to play the game and numerous great quests. It's so sad that they messed things up so badly. If I had to quess I'd say that 80% of the staff behind the game are experts but the remaining 20% are made up of monkeys. That's my only explanation to how you can make something so excellent so damn flawed.
