I don't want Sony or Microsoft to announce a thing. I'm still impressed by the features and the graphics on my PS3 and 360. I don't think they've reached their limits, yet. What good would it do to announce a new console this year? Make people that just bought the console feel betrayed? Kill you sales when both consoles are selling better than ever? Go into debt trying to establish the new console? Force developers to create games that won't sell very well due to a limited install base?

Let the Wii U have its year. People that have gone with XBL will stick with Xbox because of their established identity. People that stayed loyal to the PS3 are going to stay loyal to the Sony brand (at least the ones that didn't go the 360 route, this time). And if they can have a comparable version of Wii U titles, I don't see a reason to rush into the next gen. Sit back and reap the rewards of this gen. Sony doesn't need to start something new and Microsoft should just focus on its new apps and Kinect. I don't mind waiting.
