If they did, they would have never priced me out of their market. Seriously, from 1996 to 2004, I was a Sony gamer with the PS1 and PS2. At my most financially vulnerable time in my life, my college years, they released the PS3 with prices of $599.99 and $499.99 from PS3 launch until 2009. I was intrigued, but did the calculations. Why put down well over $300 when with that same amount of money I can finance several weekends of alcohol, illicit drugs, and still have enough left over to buy the latest PC game?

So a definite no. Sony does not love you for the unique individual you are. They love the money in your pocket and if you think you are getting something for free from them, then you must be really inept at managing your own finances.
