Microsoft isn't losing any money on any of their systems. They have been profitting on the Xbox 360 for over 2 years now. Actually none of the systems are losing any money on the hardware. The PS3 Slim and Wii are all making some kind of profit on their hardware. Well, the PSVita in Japan is probably losing some money, but that's about it.
I'm still shocked that they shipped that many units without a price cut. That's amazing. Sony not only got a price cut, but also had more exclusives in the 2nd half of the year, yet they shipped about the same amount as Microsoft. So what will happen when Microsoft drops the price this year?
