He used an example of comparing platform games to FPS shooters to illustrate his point. He showed how, even though the market was saturated with 2D platformers, you could at least tell them apart. That's all well and good but why didn't he do this with the girth of Final Fight clones or even better (or worse), the army of Gradius, Xevious, Thunderforce, Gate of Thunder 2D space shooters that were so popular back in the day? Comparing a platform game of yesterday to a platform game of today would have made more sense to me.
And look at the download scene. Look at the motion control scene. Look at the dance/party scene. Look at games like LBP and Valkyria Chronicles. Look at the handheld scene. We have the diversity of the older gen and the technology and refinement of the current gen. Like Hatmoza posted, the guy took a long time and used his extensive vocabulary to present the illusion of substance but there was really nothing there.
I don't usually watch Game Overthinker on a regular basis but when I did, I often agreed with him. This time, I can't do that.
