For sure Sony care much more about the hardcore gamers ! Wii is a casual machine(it's enough you look at both the hardware and software), and MS continue for ever with their Halo, Gears and Forza.
Sony 1st party devs are on another planet compared to Nintendo and MS, and you can see the effort from Sony to deliver more original stuff, new IPs, new ideas, more exclusive games. I can't really wait for PS4 ! My 2 cents.
