There was a rumor with SONY doing cloud server stuff on a big level

Cloud server stuff o.O? Cloud computing? What does that have to do with console gaming o.o?

Oooooh snap bruh: Sony Developing Cloud Gaming System?A new patent filing hints at a potential new Sony gaming solution.by Chris IaquintaMarch 30, 2009 - Ever since the remote gaming service OnLive was announced, the industry has been abuzz about the potential applications of server-based gaming and how the concept could become the future of gaming. Despite the extensive media exposure for OnLive, gaming mainliners Microsoft and Sony have commented little on the subject of server-based gaming, however, according to a new patent filing, Sony may be the first to strike back with a remote gaming service of their own.Sony Entertainment Japan recently registered a trademark for PS Cloud, a product or service expected to be Sony's venture into cloud-based gaming. As you would imagine, Sony has not formally recognized the filing nor commented on its intended applications, however, speculation has already begun, most of which centers around the most seemingly viable application -- a system that allows gamers to play and save games to a user account from any PlayStation 3.This may just be a precautionary move on Sony's part to combat competitors like OnLive, so we're taking the patent filing with a grain of salt.Nevertheless, the prospect seems promising.
