Releasing an ultra expensive console in the middle of a global recession is generally not a good idea...honestly, the numbers given the economic dip are fairly good... The SNES only sold 50 mil in a smiliar climate. I would not put this to a statistical certainty, but by the end of this year, it may just have sold better than the SNES adjusted for inflation...
