But if that were true why would they invest so much money on both the PS3 and Vita. All 3 companys are all in the gaming industry to make some sort of profit ofcourse, But Sony (atleast recently) has always been willing to lose money every time they launch new hardware to the market and has always try'd their hardest out of the big 3 to get more develepers to join SCE.

They are willing to lose money on hardware since they know they will make it up in game licensing. Microsofty does the same thing, and Nintendo did in the past... It's pretty common to lose money initially on hardware sales. I dont any of the companies really care about their userbase as much as they care about expanding it to generate more income, maybe a reason why Sony tries to sign more developers (that and potential game licensing income).
