BHR-3 said: i think anything over around 66.3M is undertracked here with VGC sold numbers, this late into a gen shipped to sold ratios should be higher than before, i believe these numbers are sold to retailers and as we know retailers dont sell every console they use some for in store displays ect. with a console getting a remodel then the store display has to be changes adding to the ratio. Its even seen with older high selling consoles like ps1 and 2 ds and psp the higher the the total sales are then the higher the ratio could be. I believe ioi himself addressed this issue with a similar theory as the one i stated 2 years ago involving shipped vs sold and ps2 LT sales i think he said there where some other places where consoles go when counted as shipped besides store displays have to find the post though. regardless i believe whatever the outcome MS won, i know i was the original predictor for it to be the other way around but that was made in late 2010 when ps3 was taken a beating from wii and 360 so i decided i would get hits making it, i believed in it (ps3>all 2011) till about june-july of this year when X-box growths in NPD wouldnt stop. the number 66m or over 66 million is not sold to consumers neither is the recent 3.9m for Dec. buy sony sold to customers is rarely ever released on the net when the source is the actually company, older members of this site should know this by now |
The Sony numbers this time is "*2 Number of retail sales to customers is estimated by SCEI."
Retail to customers = SOLD.
And the period is: "*1 From November 21, 2011 to January 5, 2012 for Japan and Asia, from November 21 to December 31, 2011 for North America, and from November 18 to December 31, 2011 for Europe / PAL territories."
