Well in BF defense, wasnt that game always online?? i was under the impression that it was a strictly multiplayer game or always focused on that component. Which is why i avoid that game

While I'm not sure how the console version is handled, on PC yes; you HAVE to be logged on through EA's network in order to play the single player game which I found to be more than just a little annoying. It actually opens your web browser and makes you launch the game from there.

The campaign story itself was told in retrospect during an interrogation session which reminded me of CoD Black Ops more than anything else, other than taking place in the present/near future.

While I realize it was Battlefield 3 and not Battlefield Bad Company 3, I will have to say that it was the characters in BBC that made me want to play more. Entertaining, humorous, etc. None of which showed up in BF3.
