Indeed: cop, deputy , tracker and watcher breathing down our throats would have ended us quickly. In reality, this game was set up for town to annihilate us mafia. We didn't stand a chance. More reason to be proud!

Unless they guessed the killer/victim correctly they would never catch scum.

Deputy wasn't squat, especially since he wouldn't get the cop's results in the event that he died.
