No. He never said the Wii-U will be a hardcore console.

He said Wii-U will try to strike a balance between hardcore and casual so that it can appeal to both markets unlike the Wii which mainly appealed to one side.

Whatever, he said he's going after the hardcore market anyway. He is right to some extent, but as soon as the PS4 and the Xbox 720 launch they will probably switch back to a similar strategy to the Wii.

I would love to see your reasoning on this.
